Kosovo Adventure Tour

Tour Details

During this Adventure tour in Kosovo, we will have the opportunity to explore the wild and beautiful nature of Kosovo, with its big diversity and rich flora and fauna. We star the tour with a visit of the vivid capital city, Prishtina; continue with a walk through the marble cave of Gadime; go walking and swimming at the Mirusha Waterfall; and hike in two of the National Parks in Kosovo – Sharri and Bjeshket e Namuna (Accursed Mountains). We will end the tour with a 700 meters zip line ride above Rugova Valley.

Arrival in Pristina Airport – Pristina city tour
Arrival in Prishtina airport and transfer to the hotel in Prishtina city center. In the afternoon guided tour to explore the capital city.
During the city tour of Prishtina, we will walk by the old part of the city, and see the Museum of Kosova, the Stone Mosque, Jashar Pasha Mosque, the Bazaar, the Clock Tower, the Big Mosque, the Hamam (Turkish public bath), Mother Tereza Boulevard, the Independence House, the famous Newborn Monument, the Mother Teresa Cathedral, the Statue of American President Bill Clinton, National Gallery, and the famous building of National Library with its unique architecture. Dinner at a local restaurant and overnight in Prishtina.

Prishtina – Gadime Cave – Prizren
This morning we transfer to Prizren. Along the way, we visit Gadime Cave, a 1.2 km deep marble cave, full of crystallised stalactites and stalagmites, formed over millions of years. The cave was discovered in 1969. We take a guided tour that will allow us to visit the first 440 meters of the cave.
Further we reach Prizren, an open air museum, part of UNESCO, with lots of history and a delicious cuisine. Prizren is located on the banks of the Bistrica River. We take a city tour, including a visit to Sinan Pasha Mosque, the Church of Our Lady Ljevis, The Halveti tekke, The Cathedral of Our Lady of Perpetual Succour, Church of Holy Saviour, Emin pasha mosque, Prizren Fortress, and the Albanian League of Prizren, an archaeological museum boasting many ancient artefacts from the region. Dinner and overnight in Prizren.

Prizren – Hiking in Sharri Mountain – Prizren
Full day hiking in Sharri Mountain, to explore the beautiful landscapes with valleys, lakes, large forests, cold springs, and rivers. The area has a rich vegetation and biodiversity. The trail is full of beech, oak, bush, fir, and black pine trees. Evening with dinner and overnight in Prizren.

Prizren – Hike at Mirusha Waterfall – Istog Lake – Rugova Valley
This morning we take a one hour hike towards Mirusha Waterfalls , a beautiful landscape of waterfalls cascading over the rocks and forming pools. If the weather is warm, we can even enjoy swimming bellow the cascades. We stop in Istog to enjoy views of the lake, before we drive towards Rugova valley, with a beautiful landscape, surrounded by glacial lakes and fairy-tale pine forests. We spend the afternoon enjoying the nature, as well as a delicious dinner with traditional menu.

 

Rugova Valley Hiking and Zip Line
Full day in Rugova, hiking and exploring the nature. The valley is part of the Accursed Mountains and it includes the region around the riverbed of Lumbardhi i Pejes. These peaks, cliffs and fields, which are home of 12 villages, are mostly populated only during the summer.
More adrenaline at the longest Zip Line in the region, Rugova Zip line. 700 meters in less than a minute, which offer the best views above the Rugova Canyon. Another typical dinner in Rugova and overnight.

Rugova Valley – Peja – Patriarchate of Peja Monastery – Decan Monastery – Prishtina
Today we return to Prishtina. Along the way, we visit two of the most important monasteries in Kosovo, both located in the city of Peja. Arriving in Peja, we take a walking tour in the city centre, before reaching the Patriarchate of Peja Monastery, a medieval Serbian Orthodox monastery built in the 13th century. The monastery has a beautiful and colourful exterior, as well as some magnificent faded frescoes covering the walls and ceiling.
Further we transfer to Decan. Enter to Decan Monastery; a beautiful monastery of the 14th century located bellow the mountains and surrounded by chestnut and pine trees. The interior has one of the most beautiful churches in Europe, filled with Biblical murals and wooden doors.
Dinner and overnight in Prishtina.

Prishtina – Return Flight
Breakfast at the hotel. Free morning in Prishtina, until time for the airport transfer.
